글로벌 타이어기업 금호타이어(대표 김창규)가 세계 최고 권위의 NBA(National Basketball Association, 이하 NBA) 및 2부리그인 NBA D-리그(National Basketball Association Development League)를 후원하며 미국 스포츠 마케팅 강화에 나선다.

금호타이어는 NBA와 후원 협약을 체결하고 2016년까지 NBA 및 NBA의 하위리그인 D-리그의 공식 스폰서로 활동한다.

이번 협약은 타이어 업계 최초의 NBA 및 NBA D-리그 후원임과 동시에 금호타이어가 미국 프로 스포츠리그와 맺은 첫 번째 파트너십이다.

최해억 북미영업담당 상무는 “미국 최고의 인기 프로 스포츠 중 하나인 NBA와 글로벌 타이어 기업 금호타이어의 후원협약 체결을 통해 미국 시장 내 인지도를 대폭 확대할 계획이다.

또한 앞으로도 세계 최대의 프리미엄 타이어 시장인 미국 시장 공략을 위해 다방면의 브랜드 마케팅을 적극 펼쳐나갈 것”이라고 말했다.
